NYUAD students share their thoughts on what makes them feel isolated on campus.

Apr 16, 2017

In this issue of the Saadiyat Thought Bubble, students reflect on what makes them feel isolated at NYUAD
####Ghaniba Ali, Class of 2019
What makes me uncomfortable or isolated on campus is not being able to attend talks by visiting professors, writers, etc. It makes me feel like I am going to regret not doing all these things while I am here at a place like this. ... Prioritizing what I need to do can end up making me feel isolated.

#####Ali Shazal, Class of 2020
The gossip culture on campus makes me really uncomfortable. That’s one of the problems of living in a small campus. Someone does something that might appear harmless one moment and the whole campus is talking about it the next moment. People don't mind their own business and are often judgemental of others' choices and actions.

#####Samridha Shrestha, Class of 2020
The presence of islands of people of closed nationalities. This general fear to not go beyond your comfort zone.
