Apr 23, 2017

####Refugee Week at NYUSH From April 11 to 14, NYU Shanghai hosted its first Refugee Awareness Week. It was arranged by the NYU Shanghai chapter of the No Lost Generation initiative, led by Yaman Maarrawi, class of 2020. Discussions on the global refugee crisis and immigration were held by the Philosophy Club and NYUSH Model United Nations, with documentaries being screened throughout the week to highlight the issues refugees face today.
####Trash Fashion Show Takes Shanghai On April 16, the Trash Fashion Show was held at the Himalayas Museum. With press, students and staff in attendance, student designers showed off their work on the catwalk. The outfits were made from recycled materials, using objects that are typically seen as garbage. The Trash Fashion Show was held in collaboration with the Shanghai Project, an ideas platform to discuss and promote sustainability.
####NYUSH Goes Green On April 17, Go Green Week started at NYUSH, just in time for Earth Day on April 22. Already in its third year, GoGreen Week hosted Andrea Turkalo, Associate Conservation Scientist at the Wildlife Conservation Society, hosted art exhibitions by students and artist Rasmus Degnbol and held the anticipated Go Green Challenge, where students and faculty go vegetarian or vegan for the week.
