####NYU Shanghai hosts Admitted Students Weekend
On April 27 to 28 the NYU Shanghai Office of Undergraduate Admissions welcomed members of the incoming class of 2021 to its annual event, Admitted Student Weekend. Over 135 international students from around the world came to tour the NYUSH building, experience classes, hear from university leadership and attend a campus fair. Current NYUSH community members left words of encouragement on large pieces of paper for the class of 2021.
####Senior and Alumni Day at Shanghai Disneyland
On April 23, the Commencement Committee took NYUSH seniors to Shanghai Disneyland for a day of fun and community building. Tickets were discounted from RMB 499 to RMB 268 in reference to Motel 268, the previous NYUSH housing complex. Alumni from other NYU campuses currently living in Shanghai were also invited to the event to mingle with the Class of 2017.
####Amethyst Spring Formal
On April 28, the NYUSH Events Committee and Commencement Committee co-hosted their last major event of the year, the Amethyst Spring Formal. The event, held at the Langham Hotel in Xintiandi, celebrated the end of the school year and the graduation of NYUSH’s first class. Music, performances and good food greeted attendees.
####Shen Zhihua visits NYU Shanghai
On April 24, Shen Zhihua, Director of the Institute for Studies of China's Neighboring Countries and Regions and Director of the Center for Cold War International History Studies at East China Normal University, gave a lecture at NYUSH about China’s relationship with North Korea. Zhihua said that awareness of regional players is key to managing the North Korean nuclear challenge and the security situation in Northeast Asia. He argued that North Korea is China’s latent enemy and that South Korea could be China’s ally.
