SLICE movie screening - Theeb(Wolf): ذيب
The Office of Spiritual Life & InterCultural Education will be hosting a movie screening of Academy award nominated Theeb (Wolf): ذيب . The film is the story of Theeb, a young Bedouin boy living during World War I who encounters the adventure of a lifetime when he joins his older brother to escort a British officer through the Wadi Rum desert.
The movie will be screened from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on March 13 in The Arts Center B1-101, and discussions will follow.
Barzakh Festival - Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 / Alsarah & The Nubatones / Lekhfa / Altin Gün
Nigerian Afrobeat Mogul, Seun Kut and East African Afro-pop band, Alsarah & the Nubatones will unite together on March 6-7 to form a unique sound in this two day festival from the Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi. The festival will also also feature DJ sets by James Locksmith. Both parts of this festival will happen in the Art Center’s Red Theater and will see the following artists perform on these days: Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 / Alsarah & The Nubatones on March 6, 7:30 p.m.; Lekhfa and Altin Gün on March 8th, at 7:30 p.m.
Social Impact Leaders: Realized Worth
Chris Jarvis and Angela Parker, Co-founders of Realized Worth, a global consulting agency specializing in transformative employee volunteerism, will be leading a discussion on corporate citizenship and the positive contribution employee volunteering programs can make toward addressing important issues in society. This event is led by the Office of Community Outreach and co-hosted by the Office of Social Responsibility. The location is yet to be announced, but it will take place at 6:30 p.m. on March 7.
