####President Hamilton Visits NYU Shanghai On Nov. 2, NYU President Andrew Hamilton visited NYU Shanghai. Speaking to about 300 students, faculty and staff, Hamilton expressed his admiration of the NYUSH community and accomplishments. He also sat on a panel with the presidents of Peking University and East China Normal University to discuss the future of higher education.
####Ally Week On Its Way Both a celebration of diversity and a challenge for greater understanding and acceptance, NYUSH’s annual Ally Week will be held from Nov. 7 to Nov. 11. Traditionally held in the spring, Ally Week directors explained in an open letter that the move to the fall was in order to better “act as a catalyst of dialogue, support and willingness to learn, so that once we start the conversation, it will continue throughout the year.”
Featuring a week of events and discussion panels, Ally Week ultimately hopes to generate meaningful ideas and interactions around campus.
####Double Eleven Holiday Approaches Savvy shoppers all over China are preparing for the biggest consumer event of the year, scheduled to be held on Nov. 11. On this day, every product on China’s online shopping giant Taobao is going to be half off or more. The NYUSH Resource Center, responsible for receiving packages and delivering them to students, has already sent out an email warning of delays in package delivery. The Resource Center expects to receive about 300 to 400 packages per day in the aftermath of the shopping holiday.
