So far I have been awarded with the position of Fitness Ambassador at NYU Abu Dhabi, Athlete of the Month, official instructor at the NYUADFC, leader of Boxing Disciplines SIG and most important of all, the privilege of being part of a global Muay Thai Community. I would never have been able to reach my current stage without the priceless contribution of all the people that have supported me through this journey which fortunately enough, has only just started.
The first person who got me into boxing and identified the crazy energy that earned me the name of “a mad woman” was senior Osama Salman, who I am proud of calling a good friend, trainer and fighter. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Chancy, my first Muay Thai trainer. A big part of our lifestyle as NYUAD students involves bouncing around the world, and in my travels I have found the warmth of amazing members of the Muay Thai community such as the crew from Picante Fight Team in Argentina, Muay Sapein in Madrid, TMT in Thailand and Kings Thai Boxing in New York and Gotham Gym and the family from Kings Thai Boxing in New York. I wanted to give special thanks to Mateo Mangusto Maldonado for the tools he has given me not only to fight inside the ring but outside of it as well. Of course, I am grateful to the elite team from Cobra for proving that the UAE supports the Muay Thai culture to the highest degree. Last and not least, my thanks go to my family from the NYUAD Fitness Center and Marko Mladenovick, who has taught me that the first fight you have to win is with your inner self. Finally, I want to emphasize the fact that these are just my first steps and there is still an ocean of knowledge and experience ahead of me.
